The Zebas family first fell in love with Vallecito Lake and the San Juan Mountains several years ago! They were instantly taken with the beauty of the valley and the kids were ecstatic about all the adventures to be had in the mountains. So, they bought a cabin…
Joe and Heather have always found joy in cooking and cultivating community through the sharing of a great meal. When the old Virginia’s Steakhouse location became available, they knew they wanted to create a place where they could do just that. Since then, they have put their hearts and souls into The Weminuche Woodfire Grill. The word Weminuche is a Ute Indian term for "the old gentle way" and was the perfect name for the Grill in the surrounding Weminuche Wilderness located in the San Juan National Forrest. The Zebas family hopes the Weminuche Wilderness Grill will provide a family oriented restaurant with quality food that will keep you coming back again and again. While they continue to live in southeastern New Mexico, they travel back and forth to stay involved. When they are in town they are always planning the next exciting event for The Weminuche Grill! If you catch them in the restaurant, you will find them cooking, washing dishes, clearing tables, and sharing laughs with the patrons.
With every reason to visit the San Juan Mountains, there is no reason not to make The Weminuche Woodfire Grill part of your next adventure! “Whether you are fishing, hiking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, or making your own adventure - come by to warm up, cool down, have a drink or grab a bite! We look forward to sharing some time with you!” - The Zebas Family
